Shining through this Year’s Struggle

Black-Owned Businesses to Support Every Month

The last year has been an uphill battle for everyone. Having to work from home, not being able to visit our family or friends, being unable to shop at our favorite boutiques, and not being able to eat dinner at our local go-to restaurants has made this year less than ideal. Because of this, many small businesses have struggled to stay open and successful this year. They have had to adapt to follow Covid-19 protocol, limiting the number of people allowed inside their store and the number of hours they were allowed to stay open. Although many people would like to forget about the past twelve months and put all the hurt and anxiety behind them, last year was one we will never be able to forget. You can help this difficult time be remembered as a time of unity and a time of community by continuing to support your local black-owned boutiques and restaurants.
 St. Louis Superstars

The St. Louis area has a countless number of these small business superstars, many of them black-owned businesses, that you can help to continue shining. By supporting local black-owned businesses, you can help boost their well-deserved sales and spread the word, so they can continue thriving every month of the year, especially after this difficult past year.
Radiant Restaurants

I will let you in on a secret... supporting local black-owned restaurants does not just help them, it will also help your life get significantly more scrumptious. Sometimes all you need to make your day is a burger and fries, some bar-b-que, or a cup of coffee to start your day. Set aside a day each week to try out a new black-owned restaurant. Your support will help them continue to shine and it might just become the highlight of your week. Here are a few St. Louis favorites to get you started.
