Quarantine Queen

December 20, 2020

Locked in The Castle

It may be safe to say that 2020 has been the longest, most challenging year of our existence. Everything that could have happened, did happen, from dancing with the idea of a world war to a global pandemic. What we thought would be a nice two-week vacation from our day-to-day life turned into a new reality. After a few months sitting on the couch half dressed, no access to your favorite nail tech and on your last straw with hair tutorials you can’t quite achieve becomes a bit nerve wrecking. Having seen very similar situations like this in movies is cool, but to actually live it is mind boggling. However, just like most movies there is a happily ever after somewhere, right?
The Silver Lining

During this time, it is good to be reminded of the facts- you are alive and that is something to celebrate. You may not feel your best every day and that’s ok. Take one day at a time and make sure you are doing everything you can to be the best person that you can be. There is no better time to jumpstart a new hobby, crush your goals, and showering yourself with self-care and encouragement.
The Royal Rules

Working from home (WFH) is the new norm for many working professionals since COVID-19 took the world by storm. Some WFH routines consist of business casual on top and lounge on the bottom or even full out lounge which is completely up to you (and management). The point is to incorporate things in your routine to shake up your day so that it doesn’t become stagnant, after all you’re quarantined. Here’s a few action items you can use to switch things up in your day to day:
1. Get dressed: Studies show that creating the habit of getting dressed can be a complete game changer.

2. Press on nails: Are In! So, jump on the wave and give yourself a DIY manicure until you can get back in the salon.

3. Plan Your Day: Don’t lay around all day! Put yourself on schedule as if you have somewhere to be and people to see.

4. Get active: Try your best to stay active at least 10-15 minutes each day. Take a walk around the neighborhood or learn a new dance. It doesn’t have to be much; however, it will definitely get your blood flowing!

With these tips and beauty hacks you are well on your way to being a quarantine Queen.
